The webinar will provide the EP professional with a better understanding of the core concepts needed to help diagnose and treat arrhythmias encountered in the EP lab setting. Patients undergoing procedures in the electrophysiology lab require specific treatment plans and nursing care due to the unique nature of these procedures. Comprehensive assessment, monitoring and thorough understanding of the procedures are vital elements that nurses’ and technologists need to understand to ensure their patients’ well-being throughout any electrophysiology procedure. This webinar will focus on the pathophysiology of Paroxysmal SVT and AV nodal reentry tachycardia as well as the core concepts required to care for the patient undergoing procedures to terminate this type of arrhythmia in the EP Lab. This will include a review of mechanisms of PSVT and AVNRT, signs and symptoms, ECG and EPS findings, post procedure care, potential complications, and techniques to terminate the arrythmia. Healthworks, Inc. is accredited as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation. At the end of this webinar the learner will receive 1.5 contact hours.
